Ministry Across the Spectrum: Autism, Faith, and the Local Church

Sunday morning worship is a comforting routine for many, but for families touched by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), it can feel overwhelming and isolating, often leading them to stay home despite a deep desire for faith and community.
This book seeks to bridge that gap by exploring the experiences of ASD families through the stories of three fictional but representative households, highlighting both the challenges they face and the practical ways churches can welcome them more fully.
Written from the perspective of a pastor and parent of an autistic child, it offers a compassionate, realistic starting point for congregations, leaders, and caregivers who long to see the church become a place of true belonging. My hope is that through these insights and examples, the body of Christ will grow in understanding and love, becoming a community where autism families can worship, serve, and thrive.
