Sunday School Lessons for Teens: REAL Life (Exodus 14—20)

Exodus 14—20 takes students on a powerful journey through some of the most dramatic moments in Scripture, helping them see how God works in real, life-shaping ways. These Sunday school lessons for teens focus on God’s faithfulness, authority, and care as He leads the people of Israel from slavery to freedom and begins shaping them into a covenant community.

In this unit, students will explore the crossing of the Red Sea, God’s provision of food and water in the wilderness, and the giving of the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. These passages show that God is both powerful and personal—able to deliver His people from impossible situations while also guiding them in how to live. As teens study Exodus 14— 20, they will be challenged to trust God, obey His Word, and recognize His work in their daily experiences.

REAL Life is a quarterly Sunday school resource designed especially for tweens, teens, young adults, and students in grades 7–12. Students will also learn how to study the Bible for themselves using the REAL method—Read, Examine, Ask, and Live. This approach helps teens move beyond simply reading Scripture to understanding its meaning and applying it to everyday life. Each lesson includes one page of focused Bible study and one page filled with discussion questions, interactive activities, doctrinal and apologetics insights, and a section for home Bible study. While not required, teachers may benefit from using the Baptist Expositor Leader Guide for added background and teaching support.
